Probate court decides guardianship and conservatorship issues for minors or incompetent persons. Probate court also decides estate proceedings to resolve the financial affairs of a deceased person. I generally do not become involved in estate proceedings unless it is necessary to open an estate as a result of a personal injury wrongful death claim. If there are contested proceedings in a probate matter or if it is necessary to open a guardianship or conservatorship to approve a personal injury settlement on behalf of the minor child then I can become involved as necessary in probate court proceedings.
