Appeals
When the initial decision by the judge or jury is not acceptable and post-trial motions for a new trial or to change the outcome are not successful then it is usually possible to appeal the decision to a higher court or a higher level within the administrative agency involved. I have represented clients for appeals in Iowa administrative agencies, Iowa courts and Federal courts. The appeal is not a substitute for doing something right the first time. Appeals generally need to be filed in 10, 20 or 30 days depending upon the type of decision to be appealed. Do not delay seeking the advice of an appellate attorney.
